The First Annual Cork Huguenot Day

Written by iarc on . Posted in News

IARC was involved in the organisation of the First Annual Cork Huguenot Day, which was held Saturday, July 14th in the Masonic Hall, Tuckey Street, Cork city.

Our Academic Director, Dr David J Butler who is also the librarian and archivist of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Munster Freemasons, presented one of the talks on the day, focusing on family history. A second talk was given by Dr Alicia St Leger on aspects of Cork’s Huguenot heritage.

The day was a great success with eighty-five people attending the morning lecture session and fifty continuing on to take part in the walking tour of Cork sites of Huguenot interest.
